GERMANY
The district heating (DH) plant delivers hot water to around ca. 350 clients (private, commercial, hotels), and also to two band dryers for food production.
The current heat energy will be produced by 4 different biomass boilers and 2 biogas cogeneration plants. The solar thermal plant (27.000 m² collectors from Meriaura Energy Oy within a 8.000 m³ pressure less heat storage tank) covers around 50% heat demand from spring to autumn (DH and drying process). This gives the opportunity that the existing biogas production during this time can be used for green methane gas production – instead of burning to electrical AND heat power. The needed electrical power for pump operation in a solar plant is produced by a small PV-plant, which produces the electric power parallel to the demand. Therefore this plant has no electric operation cost too.
GOALS
- Solar contribution of 12,8 GWh/a (= 27% of total heat demand for DH and dryer)
- Renewable share of 100% (only biomass, biogas and solar for fuel demand)
