Our project partner, Soliterm Group, won the SolarPACES Technology Implementation Award 2026 for their flagship industrial solar thermal project at Mayr-Melnhof Graphia in Izmir, Turkey. This solar thermal plant is also part of the DigiSolar project, serving as a demo case for technology implementation.
This award recognizes the successful implementation of innovative concentrated solar thermal technology in a real industrial environment—demonstrating that the decarbonization of process heat and cooling is not a future vision, but a proven reality.
The awarded project delivers:
– 3.5 MW rooftop solar thermal capacity
– 500 parabolic trough collectors
– 6.2 GWh of renewable solar energy annually
– Around 3,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided every year
– Sustainable process heating and cooling through a double-effect absorption chiller
The award was received by Deniz Lokurlu during the 32nd SolarPACES Conference in Germany.
